Que Rico Que son Los Alfajorcitos tan riquisimo. Room 13 made alfajorcitos, they are really easy to make, and very Delicious.



All you do is get the jar with ducle de leche then get the knife and get a biscuits and spread the ducle de leche on the biscuit, squish them together and roll them into the coconut. Now you are ready to eat them. This treat comes from Argentina. Alfajorcitos is a treat that kids in Argentina love, almost every food they eat they put ducle De leche on it.




When I was eating the alfajorcitos I tasted a bit of caramel, that made it really sweet. The sweet Dulce de leche oozed out on the sides and it was enjoyable.


I hope I can make these some day at home.

Badminton

Last week on Thursday room 13 went to the hall to play Badminton. We go to the hall every Thursday’s to play badminton.Donna is our teacher she teacher’s us trick’s, back and forth hand and even more.

This week Donna t us how to serve, First of all you will hold the racket upside down, in front of you. Secondly you flick your wrist and hit the shuttle over the net. That’s how you serve. After she had told us how to serve then she moved on to the back and forth hand that was really hard to do, when I tried my highest score was six, I thought I could do better than that but I couldn't’t. Then she told us how to play badminton soccer, you have to get a partner for this game, first of all you get four shuttles two for your partner and two for you.
Then you get one more shuttle and use it to play with. Me and my partner were not very good at it but I still won. After that we played a game, it’s like tennis you have to hit the shuttle over the net but if you don’t hit and don’t get it over the net then you will be out and you will have to go at the back of the line and it will be the next person’s turn.



When it was my turn I got out easily because I hit the shuttle our by accident. After that Donna blowed her whistle and told us to come and sit down. It was time to go, it was nearly home time, and we said to Donna Thank you.

Art work

In our class room we did an art work. First we did a scrap one then we did our real one. The first thing we did was to draw a wavey line. Then we started to do arc's and we coloured it in and that's how we made this awesome art work.

Uniform

What was the problem and how did you decide to fix it?
The problem was that in winter it was very cold so we decided to fix it by making a winter uniform. One of our designs are a shirt with Velcro in it. It comes with selves and that also has Velcro inside it too. So it can be stuck together when you’re too cold. But if you’re too hot you are able to pull the sleeves off.
We are planning to use cotton for this design. Because the soft, fluffy staple fibre is very warm so our winter clothing is going to be made out of it.
We’ve also decided to make a rain coat for rainy days but they are only for seniors. Same for the first design. The rain coat is going to be made from water proof Nylon has to be treated with a waterproofing agent, then it won't let water in through the fabric.


Why did you choose the design that you did?
We chose this design because it would be helpful with its warmness and the Nylon will help with its waterproof powers.

What makes your new design better than before?
Our school has track pants but we decided to make it better by having zips so when it is a hot day and you are wearing track pants you can unzip it and we can put the in our bag or desk.

Swimming

My favorite part was was free time because my friends and I played tiggy. learnt how to swim safely in the water.

Back to the Future

The wheels screeched as the Delorean came out of the drive way. Crammed in the front was Jennifer, Marty and the mad scientist - Doc. “ Hey Doc, we better back up we don’t have enough road to get to 88” said Marty worryingly. “Roads” said doc , “Where we’re going we don’t need roads. They sped off with fire burst and away they went - Back to the Future.

Our Friends from Wake Forest

In our class room we had a visitor from Wake Forest University, they came to Pt England to see how the school's are like in New Zealand. Our visitor was kind but we didn't really know much about her, all we knew was her name and were she came from, but it was nice having a visitor In our class room. When It was there last day and it was home time on Thursday I went and said buy buy Meagan I hope I will see you next time.

Sentence Beginings

Room 13 has been learning about sentence beginnings. These sentence beginnings are created by Toreka Tele'a and they have been helping us to start our sentence better.

swimming

Filled with anticipation, we walked to the pool, when we got there we walked through the entrance. Then we got changed in to our togs and went for a quick shower, my shower was
freezing cold but when I went in to the pool it was nice and warm.Miss King told us to put our ear in the water and swim then I got to the end and then we swam back then Miss King said to do the best freestyle you can do so I did my best freestyle I could then I swam back quickly. Then it was the boys turn and they had to do the same thing that we did, after there turn Miss King said since you have been so wonderful you can have free time but if you hear me counting that means that you have to come back understood and we said yes so, we jumped in the pool and had a nice time with our friends me and Gloria were playing tiggy and I was in so I went after her but then I heard Miss King counting and then I quickly swam back. Then Miss King told us to get changed quickly because the bell was going to go so we quickly changed, when we got to school we just went home I had a nice day at school.

Rube Gold Burg

On Friday morning room 13 made a marble run and it was very hard. After that we brought all our stuff in and we created a marble run then we tried it but it didn't work. Then Gloria thought of an idea and it was amazing then we tried it but it still didn’t work,I was tired of messing around so I went on a desktop and I worked there.While me and Josephine were on the a desktop Kashya, Gloria and Ana tweaked the marble run and then they tried it and it nearly worked so they tweaked it again and tried it and it nearly worked. So then I came off the desktop and helped my group and then we came up with an idea and we tried it and it worked so we were proued of our selfs that was so awsome.

Tornado

Yesterday afternoon at Albany North shore there was a Tornado. Damage has been reported, with cars tipped over and roofs ripped off and trampolines ended up on roofs. This happened about 3pm in the afternoon. It was a disaster and it was terrifying for the people that lived there. This wasn't a normal day for them.

STRAW TOWERs

On the first day of the second term room 13 did a activity,it was all based on our topic, BIGGER, BETTER, FASTER AND STRONGER. We had to make a building made out of straw and it had to balance properly. When we got our straws and our tape we sat down and then we made a plan when we looked around we saw a lots of people that were nearly finished so we said to Gloria “ just stick with your idea
and she said “ okay lets do it now “. After that we were nearly at the top so we had to make the triangle for the top but then Miss King said to come and sit on the ground so we did’nt finish it and then it was morning tea.
